The client - a podcast that explores Brooklyn history - requested a logo & podcast artwork art using their brand colors that was both modern and evocative of Brooklyn, and they specifically requested that the iconic Brooklyn Bridge be a part of the design and that I use a palette of colors derived from their sponsor’s style guide. We looked at several options that ranged from playful illustration to stylized elements from vintage photographs, but ultimately the client felt the modern, graphic feel paired best with the sponsor’s aesthetic for co-branding purposes. The resulting logo is designed to evoke the sound waves and studio equipment in a shape that directly references the bridge. In smaller contexts, the logo can be shown with or without the sponsor logo in the top right corner.
After creating logos and digital artwork, I was asked to design promotional postcards to be handed out at events. The cards utilize the already-established color palette and the back side includes subtle nods to bridge/sound wave graphic elements that are seen in the logo.
